This book (also available in Spanish) is designed especially for children between the ages of two and six whose families have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death. The simple, clear story helps the child to understand what has happened, to deal with all of the feelings that are arising, and to continue to feel loved and secure.
One mother, whose twin baby girls were stillborn, said upon reading Something Happened, “I love this. This is exactly how Matt (her four-year-old son) felt. I especially like the ending because it’s so important that something is certain.” She went on to say, “I’m so glad you put the words for parents right on each page, where I was sure to read them. Without people directing you, you just don’t know what to do or how to help your surviving child.”
Something Happened is being well received in the professional bereavement community. Rabbi Earl Grollman says “This book will help so many bereaved families.”
